A Journaler, I'm not

I feel so bad to have stopped blogging, but most of the last thirteen days have been spent driving. I drove and drove and drove some more. I'll try to put some thought to the pictures I have and post them over the next week. On October 3rd, I'll be babysitting again and probably won't have any time to blog.

I got home Friday evening and I'm SO glad to be home. Kevan arranged for a surprise 'Welcome Home' and I was greeted by eleven, "Glad to see me" faces, so it was wonderful.

Library

I am in the Bangor, ME public library and the computer works, which is something. I went to Borders, I had supposedly bought wireless access with Ipass. It didn't work, so then I tried to get access with T-mobile, that didn't work and as the technician is talking me through the troubleshooting process, my laptop said the battery was low, went into hybernate mode and would not come back on. The message on the task bar said I had 2 hours and 15 minutes left of battery power, right before it shut down.

SO, my patience is not good and I am hungry. I think I'll try a new place tonight but the people at Govenor's Restaruant and Bakery last night were very nice to me.

Stamford, CT

Well, you haven't lived if you haven't driven through New York City. I may need
therapy when the reality of what I survived sinks in. There was an accident in the Bronx and I shutter to even try to relate what the driving was like. I'm so glad I don't have to go back home through that again.

It's a lovely morning, I'm in a Fairfield Inn right on I-95, Stamford, CT. I have the room for $80.00 and wanted to stay over a second night and rest up, but they wanted $200.00 for a second night. I am amazed how much a room can appreciate over night.. : ).

Checking out soon and driving again. I hope things are calmer today.

Fayetteville, GA

I'm ready to check out and head to Stamford, CT. It's 53 degrees this morning but I haven't been outside yet. It should feel pretty nice. The weather channel is predicting 30 degrees as the low in Bangor for Sunday morning...brr. I hope the cold snap will allow some fall colors to emerge.

I miss my family, TERRIBLY! The disadvantage of knowing such wonderful people.

Happy Saturday, Everyone!

Melissa is 1 Month Old

Bangor Walkabout

I'm leaving on Friday morning for a two week vacation to Maine. I've always wanted to go through New England and now it looks like I'm actually going. I'm a little scared. It's a long long way from home and I won't have anyone with me. I'm hoping to have Internet access at the hotels that I've chosen for the two stops on the way up. HOWEVER, my wireless card is very unpredictable and the access available at the hotel is wireless.

Gasoline is another issue. I know it will be more expensive than I had planned but what I'm worried about is that stations may actually be out of gas. Then, I have no idea what to do. I have AAA and have been told they will bring you five gallons of gas in an emergency. I hope that gas is available for my whole trip.

I'm gonna head into Canada when I leave Maine and drive down from Quebec to Toronto and then back into the US. I hope the weather is cool...not cold, but cool.

I'll pick up the rental car tomorrow afternoon and then load my stuff into it tomorrow night. I'm hoping to get out of town before the morning traffic gets under way, but I've been know to oversleep.

Wish me luck!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOEY ! I Love You!!
