April Fool's Day Myounichi

I always wish I was the kind of person to pull off April Fool's jokes. Some are mean spirited but many are funny. It's the lieing part that stops me. I can't seem to tell a bare faced lie even if it's a joke. One year my brother's convinced me that I had the chicken pox, again. I was crying hard by the time I got to a mirror and they giggled, "April Fool's." I was so relieved that I didn't have chicken pox that I laughed along with them. My mom was mad because it upset me but she didn't seem to have a problem with the fact that both of them had lied to me.

Strange if you think about most of the holidays we celebrate. Many are not exactly about the complete truth. Easter bunnys, Santa Claus, ghosts, vampires and witches flying on brooms come to mind. I guess these are 'white' lies. I never was clear on why at times lies are ok. Wait, looks like I still don't get it.

Anyway, Myounichi is tomorrow in Japanese, so Happy April Fool's Day, Miounichi!

Death, might be Proud

I stole the following from a friends blog today. I found it very interesting and life renewing BUT it's about death and the death card in tarot:

Death is a stage in the
cycle of life. Without death, there would be no
room for new things to grow. When you receive
the Death card in a tarot reading, fear not;
Death is only an indication that transformation
is about to occur. Death allows us all to
evolve by removing that which is no longer
needed. The end of one cycle makes way for a
new one. Old behaviours and patterns which have
tied us down are released. Death cleans house
so that we don't have needless drains on our
energy. In Death's ruthless destruction there
lies compassion.

IT'S A GIRL !

Today is Sonogram Day!

With three beautiful wonderfully healthy little boys, Joey (9), Josh (3 1/2), Justin (15 mos), the hope for the baby due in August is for nothing more than more of the same; health.

But, it would be lovely to have a little girl. To dress in frills and share secrets with.

We will learn today whether the baby will someday be another member of the NFL or the future President of the United States, : )

Spring Changes Everything

I feel the change in the weather. And, I feel a change in my life, a huge one. I sometimes wonder why we are so afraid of change. At a fairly young age, we can look around and see that each day brings changes, some small, some earth-shaking, but changes none the less. Yet, we cling to the known of today and cringe at the unknown of tomorrow. The fear of nothing, so to speak and the fear of nothing, or irrational fear is a psychosis. So, we all plod along trapped in our individual physchotic brains, putting up with mediocrity because it's familiar. We take abuse because we have been abused and know what it's like.

To break away from the comfort zone takes courage. And with courage comes freedom!

Vive la revolución!

1st Annual Squiggy Classic

The event is finally here. Today, tomorrow and Sunday we'll have mountiain bike races, road bike races, a 5K and a 10K run, and adventure race, helmets for the kids and lots of fun. We've planned for a year and now it's time to enjoy it. I'm working registration and we're hoping to have at least 500 participants. So, it should be busy. Wish me luck.

Rest in Peace, Jennifer

My 9 yr old grandson's 19 year old aunt had a headache last night. She took a shower and never came out. Her brother found her dead. The paramedics think it was an aneurysm. My grandson worshipped his aunt Jen and we do not know how to tell him she's gone.

Even though we all hang onto life by a tiny silk thread, we sometimes forget how precious each moment is, for each may be our last.

Heaven has a beautiful new angel.

Open the nearest book

Go to page 123, count down five sentences and post the next three sentences.

This is what I found:

"In the normal course of events we are not consciously analyzing each sentence in this manner, but unless we have acquired the necessary concepts in the course of our lives we cannot fully understand the meaning of the sentence. Piaget has pointed out that children use such forms long before they grasp the structures of meaning corresponding to these syntactical forms. The work of Vigostsky (Chapter 7) indicates that this is because the child forms pseudo-concepts through intercourse with adults which have the outer form of adult concepts but the content of much more primitive mental processes.

Can you guess the book or the title or even the subject?

Times They Are a Busy!

I am simply overwhemed with how busy I am. I thought I was making progress with being able to say "No," but it must not be true. Otherwise, I would not have so many items on my to-do list. I have college, my class is web programming and I find the JavaScript stuff much harder than the HTML stuff was.

I am leaving for Orlando tomorrow afternoon to attend the Florida Association of Computer User Groups. I'm a Director and the conference weekend starts at 4p on Friday and is non-stop until late Sunday afternoon. It looks to be a great conference with some new vendors this year.

I agreed to alter a formal gown for my daughter's boyfriend's daughter. It's not a big job but I'm having trouble getting myself to do it.

I'm working on the Morris Bridge Squiggy Classic event that will take place on March 11, 12 and 13th. The event is a running/road biking/mountain biking/ event that I am handling the registration for. Should be lots of fun but lots of work.

I've just added a site meter to my page. It took another 30 minutes that I didn't have but it should be fun to know how active the blog is.

Oh well, I also babysit my 3 year old and one year old grandsons and the little one is crying so bye for now.

ps...I forgot to add what I ended up doing all day yesterday. I started reading websites that had information about John Titor, the supposed Time Traveler from 2036. I kept reading and reading. I haven't formulated an opinion yet, I'm still thinking about everything I've read. I shouldn't let myself get so sidetracked....guess that's why I have so much to do all the time.
